Random Number Picker

Choose a preset (1-10, 1-100, 1-1000) or set a custom min and max. Tap Pick and the display rolls through random numbers for about three seconds before slowing and landing on the winner. The No Repeats toggle removes the picked number from the pool so the next pick is guaranteed to be a different one, until every number in your range has been picked.

The animation matters more than people expect. A static "here is your number" feels arbitrary; a spinning, decelerating display makes the result feel earned. The tool runs a 2-second fast spin followed by 8 deceleration steps mimicking the way a roulette ball behaves before it lands. Mathematically the result is no more random than picking once, but psychologically the reveal is satisfying and the room watches the screen instead of arguing about who picks next.

Use this picker for one number with a reveal, in front of an audience: classroom "who answers next", office name-out-of-a-hat, family game night for a board-game starting tile. Use the [Number Picker](/number-picker) when you need a list of many numbers at once with no animation.

For physical dice ranges (D4, D6, D8, D12, D20) the [Dice Roller](/dice-roller) rolls multiple dice at once. This number picker is more general-purpose: any custom range, integers only. The No Repeats toggle is the killer feature for classroom use - the same student does not get called twice in a row, and you cycle through everyone fairly across a 30-person register before any name comes up again.
