Background Remover

Upload an image and click on the background colour you want to remove. The tool uses colour-matching to find and erase all pixels similar to the colour you clicked. Adjust the tolerance slider to control how much colour variation is included. The result is a transparent PNG ready for use in designs, presentations, or product listings.

The colour-click method works by comparing every pixel in the image to the colour you selected. Pixels within the tolerance range are made transparent. A low tolerance (10-20) removes only very similar colours, useful for solid backgrounds. A higher tolerance (40-60) catches gradients and slight colour variations, useful for photos with uneven lighting.

Tolerance controls how aggressively the tool matches colours. At 0, only the exact colour you clicked is removed. At 100, nearly everything is removed. For most solid-colour backgrounds, a tolerance of 20-30 works well. For photos with shadows or gradients on the background, try 40-50.

Edge-only mode restricts removal to pixels connected to the image border, which prevents the tool from accidentally removing interior areas that happen to match the background colour. For example, if you are removing a white background from a photo of a white mug, edge-only mode removes the white background without touching the white mug.

Start with photos that have a clear contrast between the subject and background. Solid colour backgrounds (white, green, blue) give the cleanest results. If the background has multiple colours, click each one separately and adjust tolerance for each. Zoom in to check edges after removal.

Save your result as PNG to preserve transparency. JPG does not support transparency, so transparent areas will be filled with white if you export as JPG. For product photography, remove the background and place items on a pure white or custom colour background for a clean, professional look.
